Why do I have so many books? What was I thinking? How did that happen? I keep thinking of that poor sap in Howards End who is killed when the bookcase is pulled onto him. That could happen with the shelves in the hallway here. I now know why I stayed in my apartment for eight years. It wasn't the huge rent controlled apartment. It was for the simple fact that I didn't want to move.

Lol, exactly!!!

Been there done that. And every year we keep moving, yet I *still* keep buying books.

What the hell is wrong with me????

Girl, I made the mistake of opening one of your closets when I was staying there. I wouldn't have wanted to move either.

I love to move. I lived in a LA for 5 years. I had 4 addresses.

I've lived in MA for 3 years. I have had 6 addresses. The U-haul guy knows me by name.

LOL- yep. And it isn't just "books" How many cookbooks does a girl need? How many books on myth. . . one copy of one book by Campbell covers you. . . then there are the plays, poetry, fiction, non-fiction on just the corruption of the bush admin. (I have at least five of those) I must be stopped.

I am not even sure if I have the right address for you now. . . ;)

The simple solution is to loan out your books to friends, with the proviso that when they bring them back they have to borrow another one of equal page count and size. In effect you get to store your books on your friend's book shelf. You can do a similar thing by donating books to a charity shop and buying them back when you need them again ...

well you know, you could've donated some of your books to me before you left. particularly because you know I need more books like I need a hole in my head. I have them in piles now because I just don't have anymore room on the bookself, but damn if I didn't wander into barnes and noble today and buy two more. I just can't help myself. :)
