Drunk and Blogging

I must remember to not drink and blog. Stayed up until five like an idiot then woke up at 9 and I can't fall back asleep even though I am exhausted. . . All just to find out who won the Oscars. I need to join a support group.

I admire your commitment. I wouldn’t stay up past 11.

eh, you're an angeleno... you're allowed ;)

Although I liked it overall, I thought "Crash" was contrived and manipulative, and while it raised good questions about the *real* state of race relations in the US, it definitely was not BP material, in my opinion. It was a new twist on the same old story.

I'm really disappointed. I thought Brokeback Mt. was subtle and compelling (even without the "gay cowboy" theme) and a soft-spoken quality standout.

I agree about being disappointed. I avoided seeing Crash because so many people told me that it just wasn't very good.

BBM was so lovely. I adore Ang Lee. . . he told the story simply- didn't get in its way and never once pulled out and beat us with the "this is what this movie is about and this is how you should feel about it" stick.

There have been a lot of interesting articles why voters went toward crash. I think it was due to their sending out so many screeners- something like 130,000 and it allowed voters to feel good about themselves and not admit to themselves that man love makes them uncomfortable.
